Rebirth
The Homa bird, also pronounced Huma or Homaio is a legendary bird in the ancient Persian mythology.
At times referred to as bird of paradise or bird of fortune, it is said to be a variation of the Western phoenix, consuming itself in fire, only to rise anew from the ashes.
The “fenghuang” in the Chinese tradition, representing high virtue and grace, is the equivalent of the Homa bird; as is the Garuda in the Hindu tradition, the mount of the Lord Vishnu.
